PRESIDENTS MESSAGE

The GGRK chapter of CMSA is actively investigating how to improve the chapter for the members.  We are looking at:

·         More frequent educational offerings,

·         Locations for meetings that would make it easier for you to attend,

·         Scholarship fund to help you return to school,

·         Ways to allow you more opportunities to work directly with the board.

The leadership group is very interested in your input and assistance.  We meet and make decisions from our best knowledge of your needs.  If you have a few hours to get more involved we would appreciate your involvement.

I feel the best value received from the chapter is the ability to network with other Case

Managers.  It is through these exchanges that we grow and change.  Many times we can find easier ways to perform our jobs or find ways to impact the quality of care for the patients entrusted to us.

The entire health care system in the United States is under stress to provide more for less.  That is the specialty of Case Management.  In essence, as a professional group we impact  the system greatly.  Case Managers have been at the forefront of keeping our health care system operational to this point.

We will be called on for more innovation in the next few years. I think your networking with other Case Managers will help you with your professional needs.

There are positive aspects of this stress period.  One is job security and another is being on the forefront of an expanding specialty.  Your career opportunities are endless.

The negative will be the constant change

Sincerely,

Mike DesRocher, President
