Michael Desrocher to Speak at February Meeting: Spinal Cord Injuries


Please join us February 18, 2003, at Marywood to hear Michael DesRocher, RN, MSW, CPUM, describe a model for working with spinal cord injured clients.  Mr. DesRocher is Manager of Case Management at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids.

 

Prior to joining Metropolitan, Mr. DesRocher was an Advance Practice Clinical Case Manager in the Neuroscience Department, St. Mary's Mercy Medical Center.  He has worked in the neuroscience and spine departments of Butterworth and Blodgett Hospitals and spent three years with a neurosurgical private practice.

 

Mr. DesRocher has extensive teaching experience.  He has provided numerous EMT training and other in-service sessions to hospital nursing staff members throughout west Michigan.  He has been an instructor in the nursing programs at Muskegon and Alpena Community Colleges.

 

 Mr. DesRocher holds memberships in the Case Management Society of America (he is currently President of the Greater Grand Rapids/Kalamazoo Chapter), in the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses and founder of Grand Rapids Chapter, and the West Michigan-Nursing Task Force of the Alliance for Health.
